Hello,
The SGA Committee will be meeting meet on 21 January 2011. One of the agenda items will be to arrange an event to celebrate the Association's 10th anniversary in 2011.(Incidentally it is also the centenary of Scott and Amundsen's race to the South Pole)
Suggestio.ns so far have favoured a Reception and Dinner at
-a Cambridge College, a London Club,
-Natural History Museum,
-House of Lords
Or a longer weekend event:
-Whitby, exploring the Captain Cook cnnnection
-Bristol, with dinner on the SS Great Britain
-Portsmouth has a lot to offer as well
-Greenwich - Maritime museum (and, according to a blue plaque, James Clark Ross used to live in Blackheath). It would also be close enough to Dulwich for a trip to see James Caird.
If you have any suggestions, do write in.
Melanie
